After two years in a cell, Lennox was murdered by the City of Belfast. Because he LOOKED like a pitbull. This is one of the problems of Breed Specific Legislation (BSL), people don't always know what kind of dog they're looking at. For example, when a dog bit a TV reporter in the US a couple of months ago a lot of people trotted out the old garbage about pitbulls being dangerous. One problem with that, the dog in question was an Argentine Dogo not a pitbull. Dogos are members of the mastiff family.
In Lennox's case some animal control employee decided he was a pitbull even though his DNA was on file proving he wasn't. Next came TWO YEARS of court appearances and suffering. If I lived in Belfast I would be wondering how much money was spent in the past two years just to kill one harmless dog.
